Planted in predominantly clay soils, with low production potential, the Vicentino grapes bear their best attributes. The low productivity imposed by the land enhances the quality of the grapes, promoting an optimum mix of organic acids, sugars and phenolic compounds. The achievement of this balance between quantity and quality, together with the mild climate, allows us to aim for excellency. One of Portugal’s flagship red grapes, Touriga Nacional has found the perfect conditions to express its most distinguishing characteristics: freshness and elegance.
Touriga Nacional
Handpicked grapes put into 15kg boxes. After 4 days of maceration, it fermented for 10 days at 24ºC.
In 228 litre French oak barrels for 11 months.
With a dark ruby colour, this wine displays dark plum, cassis and cherry aromas with hints of violets and balsamic involved in subtle vanilla and spicy notes. It presents a charming smooth texture and yet it is firm and vibrant. Its freshness and elegance are followed by a long a salty finish.
