Planted in the clay-schist and sand soils, with low production potential, the Vicentino’s grapes bear their best attributes. The low productivity imposed by the soil enhances the quality of the grapes, promoting an optimum mix of organic acids, sugars and phenolic compounds. The achievement of this balance between quality and quantity, together with the mild climate allows to aim for excellency.
Touriga Nacional, Aragonês.
The batch was made at the reception of the grapes in the cellar, having fermented 40% in used French oak barrels, 10% in new 500 litter barrels and 50% in stainless steel vats. It aged on lees for 6 months in stainless steel vats.
From a project involving ambitious combinations was born this Rosé which, by itself, also ends up to be an interesting blend. In its pale pink colour, we can foresee the elegance it reveals in the mouth, where its extraordinary acidity combined with a texture that had been rounded up by the barrels in which it partially fermented. By combining the red fruit notes of Aragonez with the floral touch of Touriga Nacional, this wine shows a softness and a persistence that mirror the unique climatic conditions in which its grapes ripened.
