Planted in predominantly lay-schist soils, Merlot has proved tits great adaptation to the Vicentino terroir, by providing great quality and consistency, year by year.
Merlot
Handpicked grapes and careful bunch selection upon winery arrival. During the first 5 days, the grapes were put to macerate in cold pre-fermentation conditions, It was followed by alcoholic fermentation for 10 days, at a temperature of 24ºC, in stainless steel open vats (“lagares”).
In new (50%) and used (50%) in 228 litre French oak barrels for 11 months.
Dark ruby colour. Aromas of ripe red fruits and some black plum, followed by refreshing nuances of mint and truffles integrated in an elegant spicy background. On the palate it presents a silky texture but with firm tannins, and it is both elegant and vibrant. It shows its origin with a captivating saline touch with a very long finish.
