Planted in the clay-schist and sand soils, with low production potential, the Vicentino’s grapes bear their best attributes. The low productivity imposed by the soil enhances the quality of the grapes, promoting an optimum mix of organic acids, sugars and phenolic compounds. The achievement of this balance between quality and quantity, together with the mild climate and the traditional blending art of different grapes, allowed to achieve this delightful wine.
Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Syrah, Merlot
Handpicked grapes put into 15kg boxes. Careful selection of the best grapes upon arrival at the winery. After destemming the grapes, they fermented at a controlled temperature for 8 days, followed by a
prolonged maceration period that varied between 1 and 3 weeks.
Part of the wine aged in French oak barrels for 10 months.
With a dark ruby colour, this wine presents a balsamic aroma, with ripe red fruits but with vegetal character, combined with hints of black pepper. In the palate it shows its freshness, with volume and a final taste of charming salinity.
It is a great pairing for pork loin roast, octopus rice or an eggplant lasagna. Or try it with soft cheeses or a typically regional spicy chorizo.
We recommend serving it at 16ºC/18ºC.
